Synthesis and Characterization of a Novel Self-Generated Proppant Fracturing Fluid System

Hydraulic fracturing is an important technology for the stimulation of oil and gas reservoirs. Conventional based on “sand-carrying” faces some challenges such as sand plugs; incompatibility with well completion method; damage to reservoir caused by incomplete gel-breaking fluid; solid proppants inefficiently turning corner in complex fracture networks, so on. In this paper, a novel self-generated proppant fluid system proposed solve above problems “sand-carrying”. The advantage that whole process fracturing, no will be injected. itself transform into induced fractures under high temperatures resist closure stress. consists two kinds liquids. One phase change liquid (PCL), which occurs liquid–solid at high-formation form proppant. other non-phase (NPCL), controls dispersity PCL two-phase system. main building block confirmed bisphenol-A diglycidyl ether-type epoxy resin, whereas NPCL mainly composed surfactants. viscosity, phase-change temperature, time are, respectively, about 30 mPa·s, 80 °C, 20 min.
